Peppermint Mocha Recipe: Holiday Classic Latte

January 9, 2025 by TwoPeasinTwoPods Leave a Comment

Put a seasonal spin on your coffee drink with this peppermint mocha recipe! With just a few ingredients, you can make yourself a flavorful pick-me-up in the form of a peppermint-y warm drink to sip on for the cold winter months.

I don’t know about you, but our Christmas decorations are definitely still up and our Christmas music is absolutely playing in the background because December is just way too short! Besides, nobody ACTUALLY knows when Jesus was born. In fact, we should celebrate the birth of our Lord and Saviour every single day of the year(even if it’s not Christmas) and consistently take our thoughts up to the cross where Christ died and rose again(even if it’s not Easter)!

All that to say, we are definitely also still sipping on peppermint mochas, especially since Starbucks doesn’t have them on the menu anymore. ***note: we rarely even go there anyway because our coffees made at home taste much better and our wallets are happier that way too:) Be sure to check out our other coffee concoctions:

Ingredients

  • 1 espresso shot
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 of a candy cane OR 1/2 tsp peppermint extract
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder OR hot chocolate mix
  • toppings- whipped cream, crushed candy canes, or chocolate syrup.

Instructions

  1. Make a shot of espresso into your favorite mug. If using the peppermint extract, add 1/2 tsp into the espresso.
  2. Next, warm and froth up the milk. We prefer whole raw milk, but you can use whatever your preference is:)
  3. Mix in the cocoa powder or hot chocolate powder into the milk until there are no lumps. If you’re using cocoa powder, you can add sugar if you desire.
  4. Pour the milk mixture into the mug with the espresso shot. If you’re using 1/2 candy cane, add the crushed candy cane into hot drink and stir.
  5. Top your peppermint mocha with some whipped cream, crushed candy canes, and/or chocolate syrup.
