Elderberry syrup is the best way to keep illness at bay during the winter months! Why not make it yourself for the fraction of the cost than store-bought?
Elderberries can be bought online, but in the summer check to see if elderberries grow in your area! I know it grows here in the mountains of central California where we live, but I actually didn’t get a chance to collect this past summer. My neighbor shared with me this time. 🙂

Can I Make Elderberry Syrup on the Stovetop?
Yes, if you do not have an instant pot, it can easily be done on the stovetop as well! Add all the ingredients into a saucepan and simmer for an hour.
How Long Will it Keep?
As long as you store it in the refrigerator, it should last the whole season. We just finished the first batch of the season so I made more. We like to take a spoonful daily to boost our immune systems and make sure we don’t get sick. I even give it to my 14 month old!
