If you are hosting any type of gathering this holiday season, setting up a simple Christmas tablescape really elevates the mood! In this post, I will be focusing on the centerpiece of the table. Scroll all the way down to see how it looked with our dinnerware:)

These evergreen branches are the perfect base to lay some candles on. A way to find free evergreen branches is to stop by any Christmas tree stand and ask for the extra branches that they cut off the bottoms of the trees. If you are shy to ask, simply find any fir tree growing outside and snip! Tie some ribbons around the candles for a vintage-inspired look. Some velvet ones would really hit the nail on the head for the look I’m going, but using whatever I already have is my goal. Less stuff = less clutter!

I cut my oranges in half for some pop of color. Using seasonal fruit makes the tablescape come alive! If you have extra dried oranges on hand, that would be another fantastic addition.

I also threw on some cranberries for some classic red in the centerpiece. Obviously, these perishable items will not last the entire December, but will be the ideal decor just for an evening get-together. We chopped up the oranges and snacked on them after dinner for a tasty treat and a boost of vitamin C.

If you have some taper candles with the holders, that would be super adorable for a tablescape as well. In my opinion, any type of candle just brings warmth and festivity to a space. If you like tealight candles, use those in your tablescape. Throw them into some candle holders to add a variety of heights!

Other edible options to add to a Christmas tablescape include pomegranates, apples, mandarins, grapefruits, tangerines, or any other type of citrus. I like the look of cutting up even different kinds of citrus fruit for some variety. Limes, lemons, grapefruits, and oranges all cut in half would be merry and bright! I decided to go for a more classic, Little Women style of tablescape.

I hope these photos inspire you to use what you have on hand to create a Christmas tablescape for whatever occasion you are preparing for, whether that’s a candle exchange party or for a festive family dinner. All the little details add up to create a handmade Christmas for your family!
