Hey friends, today I am excited to share my most favorite piece of furniture in my house which is my green china hutch and how I styled it. You won’t believe me say that I paid $0 for everything on the hutch! The hutch itself my husband found at a neighbors moving sale and I think we paid like under $50 for it too.

The Stoneware Dishes
So, about the dishes themselves, my brother and sister-in-law gifted me the dishes that are on the two middle shelves. The set is called the “Home & Garden Party Stoneware Collection”. It is real stoneware and was actually designed to host outdoor garden parties, hence the bird houses. They are used pottery dishes, which I love because it gives them so much character and charm! I think that it matches the hutch very well so I was very excited when they gifted this to me on my birthday!

The other antique dishware on the highest shelf was a gift from a sweet lady from church. She knows the history of the dishes and how they were buried during the Great Depression right outside the store that made these ceramic china. These are Blue Ridge dishes and were hand painted by the Southern Potteries Inc. The flowers painted are poinsettia flowers but I keep them up all year because they don’t look red enough to be poinsettias and I treat them as beautiful all-year flowers. I love the history of both of these dish sets and it brings me joy just looking at them. But I also do use them too!

The Other Tchotchkes
I recently learned a new word in the English language which is “tchotchke”. My first language was Russian and what that means in Russian is “thingies” or just “stuff”. In English it means “a small object that is decorative rather than strictly functional; a trinket”. Therefore, I’m using the word tchotchke to show was other decorative pieces I have on my dining room hutch!
I have two cute decorative bird houses that my sister-in-law gave me. I thought it goes well with the home and garden stoneware dishes! Also, we have a wooden calendar that my husband picked up on the side of a street for free. I love it and its a ritual we have to move it every morning as we sip coffee. I also have my kombucha that sits on the bottom-most shelf.

You may notice the vase on the very top is from the “Home & Garden Stoneware Collection”. I use it to display my sister’s beautiful dried hydrangeas. She lives up in Washington and hydrangeas grow really well there because of the wet climate.

The Frames
The two frames that I have hanging to the right of the hutch I actually got from Aldi! I think they are such beautiful picturesque frames and they match the hutch too!
