12 Days of Christmas Series: Day 2- Bar Soap

December 8, 2025 by TwoPeasinTwoPods 3 Comments

”On the second day of Christmas my true love gave to me two bar soaps and a partridge in a pear tree.”

Continuing with the handmade Christmas gift theme, another useful gift idea is to whip up some bar soaps to give out to friends. These bar soaps smell amazing and are not time consuming because they do not need to cure. Try out our melt and pour bar soap recipe out this Christmas season.

What I love most about the melt and pour bar soap is that it is so fun to experiment with different essential oils to get different fragrances. Another idea to get different textures in the bar soap is to add different dried flowers, grinded coffee beans, or oats for a pretty bar soap. They are beautiful, but they do get more messy, so you can just make them plain with essential oils for a plain white bar soap that smells heavenly if that’s your preference.

Tools You’ll Need

  • bar soap mold
  • soap base
  • bowl

This time around, I added dried rose petals to the bar soaps and they turned a little green and red, which is perfect for the Christmas season. I also dropped some peppermint oil in them for a fresh winter scent, but the base I used already had a nice smell to it too.

Christmas Add-ons:

  • essential oils- orange, grapefruit, fir, pine, cinnamon, frankincense, myrrh, nutmeg, clove, ginger, peppermint, spearmint, sandalwood, eucalyptus, bergamot, or tea tree.
  • mica powder- red, brown, orange (depending on what color you want)
  • rose petals or other dried flowers

Tie a ribbon with a dried orange or a sprig of rosemary with a few cinnamon sticks for an added touch!

Stay tuned for more handmade Christmas gift ideas in our 12 days of Christmas series!

Merry Christmas!

Wishing you a festive December! May your heart be filled with the love, joy, and peace that the Savior brought to us when He came down to this earth.
